Here's what I've been up to...
I pinned this a couple weeks ago
and have been looking every where for a straw dispenser, those things are expensive!!! Well when I won an Amazon card it a giveaway last week I ordered one! It's not the cool silver one because those were $80, and I wasn't going to spend that much, but I got this acrylic one for $17 and spruced it up a bit........
The picture does not do it justice!!! I modge podged scrapbook paper inside (this was not that easy to do-it's kind of small to get your hands in there and move the paper around and it had an interesting shape to the sides, but it wasn't so difficult that I wouldn't do it again) and on the bottom, because it's clear it shows up in the base!
All you have to do is spin the handle and viola you have one pencil at a time! I think the kids are going to LOVE it!!
OK now I also pinned this a long time ago.......
and I've been looking for a good gumball machine every since, they aren't easy to find either and if you get a nice one can get pricy. Plus remember all those rules my new school has, no glass either!! So I had to come up with an alternative, here it is.........
I got a plastic flowerpot and base from Menards, and a plastic fish bowl from Petco - a little glue, a wooden knob, ribbon, and a label - Wahla I've got my gumball machine :)
Can't wait to sit these in my classroom!!! My family thinks I am totally crazy as I've been admiring them for two days trying to get just the right pictures to show you how fabulous they really are!!!
I also made this......
haven't added the suckers yet, but I used this last year as a reward and it was a huge hit! Very simple, again it's just a plastic flower pot from Menards, a little ribbon, some cute flowers, and a label :)
Last but not least inspired by this pin......
I made these........
again I do not think the picture does these justice! I LOVE THEM :) I used paper mache letters from Hobby Lobby and mod podged on some scrapbook paper and ribbon. I ended up painting the edges, I don't know why I thought I was going to mod podge all the little inside areas in the first place, but I did so I painted after the fact, I highly recommended painting first!
Next week I am hoping to show you my organization make over - It involves lots of spray paint, lamination, printing, cutting, super sticky tape, and some mod podge of course :)
Can you all tell how happy this crafty stuff makes me :)
Alright head on over to Tara's Blog and get inspired to craft away!!! Happy Monday!!
.

Aaaah! I LOVE these! I have those ideas pinned as well, but you seem WAY better with Mod Podge than me- it is my arch nemesis, so I think I will just stick to your eraser dispenser (which looks WAY cuter than the original, I might add!)

ReplyDeleteNow I am going to have to go on a wild hunt for a straw dispenser! I saw a bubblegum machine at Goodwill a few weeks ago. It was like the one you pinned only green. It had a Scooby Doo on the top and I wasn't sure I would be able to remove it without messing up the machine , so I didn't get it. OUCH! That's the sound of me kicking myself for not doing it! LOVE your items. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

Ramblings of a Deaf Ed Teacher's Mind...
Love your crafts this week. I really want to get a pencil dispenser now. I'm guessing Amazon will be out of them shortly. I went to Hobby Lobby today and wanted to get letters to make the READ and I wanted to make a MATH one. But they were out of the letters A,E,T. So no luck. Maybe later on I'll be able to make them.
