Monday Made it! Creating and Crafting!!

I am so excited to be linking up with Tara over at Fourth Grade Frolics for Monday Made it again this summer! I've been on break for two weeks and I haven't done much yet but this week I started on a couple of projects so here they are!
I created this Welcome banner to match my new Boho Birds classroom theme! I used double sided tape to stick the pennants on some ribbon and added some extra ribbon in matching colors to the ends for a little more flair! I can't wait to hang it in my classroom :) I love how it turned out!!

Having a small classroom and wanting to use every inch of wall space for important information can be a challenge. While I want to celebrate birthdays with a cute display I don't have a lot of room to do it! So I came up with this....
I  hung the "Happy Birthday" sign on the wall , on each month page I punched two holes, then I put them all on book rings. I put a couple of push pins in the wall , you could always use command hooks, and hung the month pages on them. I am going to take pictures of the kids with birthdays that month and put them on each page. Every month I just have to flip the page!! I LOVE this, I think it will be easy to use and the kids will love it too. I laminated the pages so if I wasn't doing pictures I could always write on it with dry erase and erase it at the end of each year!

I you like the Welcome banner or the Birthday display you can get them for free right here!!

Now for a couple of crafty things I made!!

Next up I got this cute little chalk board at Michaels for a dollar! I used a chalk marker to write on it so it is semi-permanent. It won't wash off unless you use water. I added a couple of stickers and I think it's adorable. I am going to put it in my reading area!!

Finally, I found this pencil at Hobby Lobby, it was 80% off, so it only cost me $4.00!!! It was not really that cute though! It did not have an eraser painted on it and the tip was a dark brown, I looked like this, only green........

I bought pink, grey, and yellow craft paint for 33 cents a bottle, a couple of paint brushes, and some stickers and this is what is looks like now!!
I used a paint pen to write my name, I tried to copy a font I like but I am no artist, it isn't perfect but I like it!! I tied a twine bow on the end just to add another touch and I think it's going to look adorable in my classroom!

Now that I've gotten started I have a ton of things I want to make, so stay tuned for more next week!! Right now you should head straight over to Tara's blog and see what everyone else is making this Monday!!
