Monday Made it week 3 already, summer is flying by so fast! I have been super busy and not getting  a whole lot done in the creating department! I do have a couple of things to share! So here's what I've been working on....

I found this adorable burlap ribbon at Walmart and knew I needed to make something with it.
I've been updating some things I've made in the past with my new class colors, two years ago I did green and pink, last year I did red/blue/green/yellow. Four colors was to many but two kind of restricted what I could do so this year I'm going with just red/blue/green. So far I love it and can't wait to see everything up in my classroom!

Anyway I had a wreath I made in green and pink and decided to update with the new ribbon, here's how it turned out...
Honestly it took me several tries to figure out how I wanted to do this. I wrapped the wreath first but it didn't look great, and I couldn't get all three colors in like I wanted. Then I tried gathering the ribbon the way I had with regular ribbon in the past, but it didn't work well with the burlap. Finally I decided to just make little loops and glue them around the wreath. I added the bird to match the birds I"m using in my classroom. I may add "welcome" across the top but I've got to find some lettering I like!I think I'm going to go back and get more ribbon I think it would make great border for my bulletin boards!

And here is another free resource for you, Word Wall letters and Student Numbers in red/green/blue!
I hope you can use these! Click on the picture to download them!

So many creative teachers out these are working away go on over to Tara's Blog and see all the awesomeness created this week! Happy Monday!

I've always liked to celebrate student birthdays but I've struggled to make sure it was consistent for all my students. This year I started searching for some inspiration on other blogs and found a couple of posts by Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching. I loved how she had something ready to go that she could give to each student on their birthday and she made it special. So I decided to make birthday bags.

I picked up these cute treat bags at Party City, they match my classroom colors perfectly!
I ordered some smiley face stickers/erasers, and  birthday pencils from Oriental Trading. I got the birthday "celebration" bracelets and suckers from Dollar Tree. The color your own book marks are from Barker Creek.
I made these labels to put on each bag. I printed them on full sheet label paper then cut each one out.
I stuffed each bag with the goodies and attached a label to them!
I put them in a basket, and they are ready to go whenever someone in my class in turning another year older!
They turned out so cute, I can't wait to celebrate with my students on their days! I love being prepared and not having to scramble when I see a birthday is coming up!

Here's the birthday label for you! Just add your name, print on label paper and you will be all set to create your own little treats!

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm linking up with Tara again this week for Monday Made it!
Week two of summer break is going great. I've been working on updating all my calendars. I know some of you are anxiously waiting for them! They are coming SOON - I PROMISE! For now I have a brand new 2014-15 school year calendar you can download free!
One or Two page options are included in this file, as well as a cover page. I think you are going to like the simplicity of this set! I am really liking them!

Made it #2 =  Calendar freebies for your classroom calendar! Includes Days of the Week and Months of the year, as well as "Today is... Tomorrow will be... and Yesterday was..."

Finally, Made it #3 - Totally not school related! I am helping my sister prepare for her upcoming vow renewal ceremony. I've been busy making decor for her. Take a look at these vases I covered for the tables.

We got these vases in different sizes and shapes from the Dollar Trees. Then picked up some flowers and ribbon at Hobby Lobby. She's going with a country theme, lace and burlap, so we wrapped the vases with twine, hot gluing it on as we went to keep it in place.

Then we added the lace and flowers to them, using the hot glue. They are so cute. We also made some table runners from burlap, I attached lace to the ends with - you got it - hot glue. This is what it all will look like on the table.
I can't wait to celebrate with her and her family in July! It's going to be beautiful!

I hope you are all enjoying the warm weather and getting lots of ideas for next year! Head on over to Tara's blog and see what everyone else is making! Happy Monday!

I love the structure of Daily Five and CAFE and I'm spending the summer trying to figure out how to implement them it in the resource room this school year!  I've tried it a couple of times and always end up doing something different because I don't have a whole group time with my students it's all small group. I've had to modify so that students get the mini-lesson while they meet with me, they have two other rounds each day, I think I have it worked out. I'll have to see if I can stick with it this time!

I created these new cards for my classroom and wanted to share them with all of you!
I've modified the Daily Five cards in the picture below to meet my classroom needs. The ones in the file don't include work with teacher, they have Read to Self, and Read to Someone as separate cards.

The Cafe menu has really helped me make strategies understandable and usable for my students. It's easy to use even in small group and we refer to it a lot. I like to make the chart colorful as it's a big focal point in my classroom. I can't wait to put these up!

I love summer, I love getting new things ready for my classroom! I always look forward to joining Tara for Monday Made-it.

We've been out of school for a week and I've already gotten a few things done! I had some ideas before school was out and took the opportunity this week to get a head start on them. Here's what I've been working on!

I got these adorable classroom rules for Maria at Kinder-Craze! I loved them so much, I did change up the colors to match my classroom but these are her rules you can get a set HERE or the black background version HERE! She has amazing stuff in her store that match these as well!!

I got the green frames at Target last year in the "dorm decor" section, I picked up the blue frames at Christmas Tree Shop, and I hunted everywhere for a red frame until I finally gave in and just painted this one. I got the frame at a resale shop for 50 cents, and used red craft paint from Walmart. I love how it turned out and can't wait to hang them in my classroom!
My teacher supply drawers got a make-over! In the past I printed on card stock, laminated, and taped the labels to the inside of the drawer. I liked it but they tended to fall off after awhile. So these are actually printed on full page label sheets I got from our free teacher store, then laminated, and stuck on the front of the drawers. It was really easy to do, the backing still pealed of easily and they stuck well. I'm hoping for better results this way!

I forgot to take pictures of the process while making these cute "flowers"! I am sure you have all see the hanging tissue paper pom tutorials right?!?! Well I just made the poms but instead of hanging them I decided to make them into flowers. I got the tin planters from Dollar Tree, put a piece of foam in the bottom of them, then stuck a dowel rod into the foam. I attached the poms to the top with hot glue! I filled the bucked with white paper basket filling also from the Dollar Tree. The cute little birds are from Creative Teaching Press.

While I was at the Dollar Tree I found this colorful duct tape in just the right colors! I remembered that I had been wanting to get some tape to spruce up my whisper phones! My husband made these for me my first year teaching and they've held up great but I thought I would make them look a little nicer, so here they are!

Made it number 5 is a Freebie! I'm loving these new number posters I made! They came out so bright and colorful, I can't wait to hang them up and use them! I hope some of you can use them too!
Click on the picture to download a set of number
posters 1-20 for free!

Head on over to Tara's blog to see all the other amazing things teachers are creating! I get inspired every week by all the cool projects I see there!  I know you will too!

I can't believe that May has just flown by! I've been so busy and I haven't had time to blog much. I'm happy to be back today linking up with Farley for Currently! I am looking forward to posting a lot more soon! For now here's what I am up to currently...

I am listening to the A-Team - old school reruns! It's one of my families favorites these days, and I am usually working on my computer while they watch it but it still cracks me up sometimes!

I am loving the beautiful weekends we've been having with lots and lots of sunshine! When I wake up to streaks of light coming in the window it makes me smile every time!

I am thinking about SUMMER! We are making up snow days this week - all 5 days! It's wrapping up quickly and I'm definitely ready for the break!

I am wanting to share some big news here on my blog, but I'm not able to just yet! As soon as I can I will and I hope all my readers will be as excited as I am....there will be giveaways and freebies involved for sure!!!

I really need to finish my end of year paper work! Grades and progress reports are due tomorrow!! I've got to get on it, but that sunshine is just so distracting right now!! It's calling me outside for the afternoon!

This summer I am hoping to get some time to just relax! I know every teacher is going to want to do that! I am also hoping that we can get away for a short vacation to our favorite get away in northern Michigan we haven't been able to go for the past two summers because of our busy schedules and my husband's lack of time off at work. Hoping we can pull if off this year. Finally I want to read some good books just for fun, that's always on my summer list! I love reading but just don't have time to get wrapped up in a good book during the school year!

Stay tuned for more on the big news soon! Now head on over to Farley's blog and see what everyone else is up! Happy June!!
