Grinch Day!!!

Day 14 of Christmas activities is the best one yet! Last week after First Grade Parade posted about her Grinch day I knew I wanted to do this in my classroom, the wheels started turning, pinterest started inspiring, and I started crafting, baking, shopping to make this a party like none I've ever had in my classroom! It turned out perfectly! Here's what we did............

Read "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" while sharing our little Grinchy friend!
Made the Grinch Craft from Deanna Jumps free unit - with a little twist - and wrote what we would do to make the Grinch Grin!

Made Grinch-Dough (green playdough with green glitter in it)

Ate Grinch cookies (recipe found on pinterest) sooooooooo good - and drank Grinch punch (also found on pinterest- it's just 7up and lime sherbert)!

Played pass the present!! My students ended up with a "goodie bag" of treats all found on clearance at Walmart after the season last year (each bag contains a card game, puzzle, activity book, pencil, eraser, bookmark, and stickers - the best part they only cost me 25 cents each), a book I got free with bonus points from Scholastic, a Grinch Candy Cane, and Grinch Pills (I especially love how these turned out)!

For their parents I made "I'm no Grinch Ornaments", my take on the ball ornament with a picture of the student inside, some fake snow and green glitter! I found green bows to go on top, and made these little tags that say "I'm no Grinch, Merry Christmas 2011" Love them and so excited to send them home today!!

And here is what I looked like today in all my Grinch Glory!!!
It was so much fun putting a theme to my party this year, I'm already excited about the possibilities next year, so many ideas, and so much inspiration from all of you!!

  3. Loved your pictures. I should have blogged about our party in January but I didn't. Maybe this summer I will post about it. You had some great ideas to add to my party for next year. Thanks for sharing.
